Brighter By The Day is built to be used without giving us anything about your family. This page explains what stays in your browser, what reaches our servers, and what optional analytics measures.

The routine editor works without an account, sign-in, or email address. You can create, edit and download printable kits anonymously.

Your routine stays in your browser

The routine you build — names, titles, task wording, times, reward text and your icon choices — is normally stored only in your own browser's local storage so it is still there when you come back. Start fresh removes that stored routine for the page you are on. Clearing your browser's site data also removes it.

This functional storage is separate from analytics: it is needed for the editor to remember your work and does not depend on whether you allow analytics.

Downloading a printable kit

When you download a kit, your browser sends the routine to our server so it can be rendered into a PDF. The server validates it, renders the document, returns the file and discards the routine. It is not saved to a database, session or cookie.

Usage analytics

In production we use Google Analytics by default to understand how the product is used. It measures structured events only: page views, that editing started, that a routine was customized, which printable previews were viewed, whether downloads succeeded or failed, and that a contact message was sent. Each event carries only bounded values such as the routine type, age range, visual level, theme, task count and the formats selected.

Names, titles, task wording, reward text, icon searches, file names, contact messages, email addresses and any other content you type are never sent to Google Analytics. Google Signals, advertising features, ad personalization and cross-site tracking are turned off. Google may still receive ordinary device and network information (such as your IP address, browser and screen size) and sets analytics cookies on this site.

You can turn analytics off at any time with Privacy choices in the page footer. Turning it off removes this site's Google Analytics cookies and prevents Google Analytics from loading on later visits for as long as your browser keeps the saved preference. You can turn it back on from the same panel.

Contact and feedback

If you use the contact form, your submission is stored in the application database so we can review it. The message and the optional email address are encrypted at rest; the choices you pick (who you are, what you are sharing, what you would like built next) are stored as fixed categories. We use this information to review feedback, plan features, diagnose reported problems, and reply when you have given an email address. We do not store your IP address or browser details with it. Please don’t include children’s names, medical information, or other private details in a message.

Technical logs

Like most websites, our server and hosting infrastructure keep ordinary technical request records (such as the requested page, time, response status and network information) for operating and securing the service. They do not intentionally contain the routine content you submit.
